Phil Slaughter Physical Therapy was started to provide lake country residents with one on one physical therapy that is the highest quality that can be found.  I have been a licensed physical therapist since 1982 and have been privileged to live in Oconomowoc, WI since 1990.  For 14 of those years I worked for a variety of corporate healthcare providers.  I came to the realization that my values and philosophy did not mesh with corporate philosophies and I left to start Phil Slaughter Physical Therapy.

Serving clients with effective treatment, supported by evidence based clinical research is the foundation of my clinical practice.  As an independent physical therapist owned private practice, I can serve patients more affordably than hospitals and corporate clinics.  When physical therapy is delivered under a corporate business model the emphasis is on cost control and maximizing revenues.  I believe that healthcare professionals should focus on quality of care and the best interests of the patient, and less on revenue management.  My desire to maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and expertise is why I have maintained certification as a clinical orthopedic specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association since 1995.
